LOST TONIGHT

Sorry it's been a bit quite here in the early goings. TV has been heading into its summer hibernation, Jon's in Europe, and I've been slaving away at work. All that aside, the finale of Season 4 of Lost is upon us this evening. It looks like the Oceanic Six are going to make it off the island tonight, the great question though, is how? With Kate and Sayid being surrounded by Richard and The Others (or Hostiles?), Sun on a boat full of explosives, Hurley with John Locke and the Orchid, and Jack running off into the jungle to find him, I'm really interested to find out how in the hell they're all going to meet up and hop on that helicopter. I guess we'll just have to find out. To tide you over until 8pm EST, here's a terrific article from Slate about how Lost is getting good again. I'll be back later with my take on the episode!

Joining the Blog

Hey everyone. Michael has kindly invited me to join his blog so I will be subjecting you all to my crackpot theories and pretentious analysis. Yay!

Unfortunately, I'm actually leaving for Europe on Wednesday, and I will probably be unable to blog for a couple of weeks. However, I'll try to post a few things before I leave.

So my first post isn't completely about me, I direct you to this Lost tidbit.

LOST star MATTHEW FOX has been sworn to secrecy about the hit show's plot - as he's the only castmember who knows how the series will end.

It seems there's something interesting about Matthew Fox after all!

How I Met Your Mother: Miracles

Well, it's hard to believe it, but another season of How I Met Your Mother is over. The good news is that is has been renewed for another year of awesomeness, but for now, we have "Miracles." After a bit of an off week with last week's "Everything Must Go," the HIMYM team was back in full swing, delivering a pretty solid episode. Nothing cracks me up more than Marshall's childlike obsession with the supernatural, and his adamance about the magic of miracles couldn't have been done better. I also highly enjoyed the slow-motion-Radiohead-backed-oh-my-gosh-Ted's-in-the-hospital segment, ending in Ted eating Jello. But gags aside, this episode offered a few great plot points that will certainly play a big role next season. First of all, it was good to see Ted and Barney finally make up. Barney has always been great at providing the funny parts to stories where Ted overanalyzes, and the last few episodes, the lack of Barney has weighed the Ted plot lines down. As for Barney and Robin, it's something that has obviously been brewing since they played laser tag in Season 1, and Robin was vastly underused this season, so it will be nice to see her back again. Lastly, we have the Stella Proposal, which is what will make this summer a long one. A lot of fans either don't think or don't want Stella to end up being the mother, but I don't think I'd mind. Sarah Chalke is a terrific actress, and if the writers can bring out more of the quirkiness she has on Scrubs, I think people will come around to her a little bit better. I don't think she'll end up being the mother, just because there hasn't been the "Yellow Umbrella" story, but hey, there's still time. For now though, we can rest easy for the summer, knowing the game will be back in McClaren's in the fall.

Previews: Lost, Heroes, and Fringe

With Grey's Anatomy (here on known as The Sad Doctor Show) having its finale this week, Lost returns next week for a two hour season finale. Here is a preview of what's to come.

Heroes has released a teaser for Season 3. Hopefully it will be better than Season 2. The preview looks pretty darn good:

Lastly, J.J. Abrhams has a new show coming to Fox next season called Fringe. Here is a trailer for the show.

That's How It Starts

As an almost obsessive television watcher, I've decided to start a blog chronicling all that is good in television. Here you'll find not only episode reviews for some of the better shows on TV, but previews and news on them as well. I know that starting a TV blog at the end of the season seems silly, but during the summer, I'll be posting reviews of old episodes and recapping previous seasons. Feedback is always welcome. Enjoy!
